SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – Today, Richard H. Davis proudly announces his candidacy for Utah’s 2nd congressional district as a write-in candidate in the upcoming 2024 election. The election to fill the seat representing Utah’s 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024.
With a distinguished background as a combat veteran and former United States Merchant Marine. Davis brings a unique perspective and a profound understanding of the sacrifices made by our brave service members. His decision to run for office is driven by a commitment to upholding the principles of the Reform Party (or Mormon Reform Party). An American political party established by Joseph Smith in 1843, prior to his presidential campaign.
Following the Mormon migration to Utah, they later aligned with the People’s Party, a significant political force in the Utah Territory during the late 19th century. Supported by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and its influential newspaper, the Deseret News.

An event vividly chronicled in his unpublished manuscript “Sailor of Fortune.” This work provides a gripping account of his adventures at sea and on land aboard the Motor Vessel Kamillian.
