According to WHO 2018 report, more than 1.35 million people die in traffic accidents worldwide every year. Wearing a seat-belt reduces the risk of death among drivers and front seat occupants by 45 – 50%, and the risk of death and serious injuries among rear seat occupants by 25%. In addition to that more than 5000 people get trapped in life-threatening situations in their vehicles every year. While not mandatory, still It should be common practice to have an emergency exit tool within reach in the drivers compartment.
While current products like keychains, hammers and other gizmos exist in the market they tend to compromise on their basic functions. According to Peeyoos (22),the inventor of VCAT V1, their device is more than five times efficient and takes less than half time in execution compared to existing products in market. In addition to that none of existing devices promote seatbelt usage and creates fear towards them while VCAT V1 actually promotes seatbelt usage and makes a person wear their seatbelt.
