EternaSafe Launches “Information Insurance” So Indian Families Stop Losing What They’re Owed
Eternasafe Technologies Pvt. Ltd. today opened early access to EternaSafe, a digital platform built around a category the company is calling “information insurance” — a private, encrypted account that holds a family’s financial records, documents, business details and final instructions, and hands them to verified nominees only after the person is gone. The problem it’s aimed at is not small.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance to Parliament earlier this year, ₹1.84 lakh crore currently sits unclaimed across Indian banks, insurers and mutual funds. Of that, ₹60,518 crore in bank deposits has already been swept into the RBI’s Depositor Education and Awareness Fund, and ₹8,973 crore in insurance payouts is sitting with insurers, waiting for someone to file a claim nobody knows exists. “People don’t lose this money because they weren’t entitled to it,” Amardeep, founder of EternaSafe.
“They lost it because nobody told them it was there. We built EternaSafe for the exact week a family is sitting at a table with a folder of half-answers, trying to remember which bank, which policy, which password.”
What “Information Insurance” Actually Means
Life insurance replaces income. EternaSafe is built to replace something less obvious but just as costly to lose: the knowledge of what exists, where it is, and how to claim it. Inside the platform, users fill in five sections at their own pace bank accounts and investments, legal and property documents, business continuity instructions, a list of contacts their family will need, and personal notes or final wishes. None of it is visible to anyone while the person is alive. Nominees receive a confirmation that they’ve been named, and nothing else.
Access only opens after EternaSafe’s inactivity system sends multiple alerts over SMS, email and WhatsApp, gets no response, and verifies the identity of the nominee requesting entry. A human reviews every case before release. Logging in at any point cancels the process. “We say this plainly because it matters: we built it so we can’t read your data either,” Amardeep said. “It’s encrypted on your device before it ever reaches our servers. If someone loses both their password and their recovery key, we can’t get it back for them. That’s the trade-off, and we’d rather be honest about it upfront.”
Why This Is Different From a Will
EternaSafe is not a substitute for legal estate planning, and the company is careful to say so. A Will decides who inherits what. It doesn’t record a locker location, a business vendor’s phone number, or the fact that there’s a second insurance policy nobody’s mentioned in years. “A Will can take months to come into play,” Amardeep said. “Families need answers in the first thirty days, not after probate. That’s the gap we’re in.”
The platform is especially aimed at three groups the company says are underserved by existing options: salaried professionals juggling accounts across multiple institutions, small business owners whose operations depend on knowledge that exists only in their heads, and non-resident Indians managing assets across two countries.
For small business owners specifically, the stakes are steep. Government estimates put the number of MSME owners in India with no documented continuity plan above 30 million — meaning a business can stall the day the one person who understood it isn’t available to run it.
Built and Recognised in India
EternaSafe is recognised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade under the Startup India initiative (certificate DIPP251036) and was incubated at CIIE, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. The company was incorporated in February 2026, and its infrastructure runs on AWS’s India region under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Early reviewers who tested the platform ahead of launch include a practicing income tax advocate and a chartered accountant, both of whom cited the same recurring problem in their own client work: families who inherit assets they don’t know how to locate or claim. Information insurance opens for free early access starting today at EternaSafe. Members who join during the early access period will receive three months free once paid plans launch later this year.
About EternaSafe
EternaSafe is a zero-knowledge digital legacy platform built in India, for Indian families. The company is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice; EternaSafe is designed to work alongside a valid Will, not replace one
