Atomic Ranch’s New Event Series Launches with the Wildly Creative Shag House
PALMS SPRINGS, CA– The Shag House opens its iconic green doors for only the second time ever to guests for a trio of events hosted by Atomic Ranch, the authority on all things Mid-Century Modern. From May 2nd to 4th, art and architecture fans alike can purchase tickets to tour the newly renovated Alexander Company-built home in Palm Spring’s Little Beverly Hills neighborhood.
Shag House Highlights
The project was unveiled to rave reviews at this year’s international Modernism Week event in Palm Springs which hosts more than 130,000 fans who travel to the desert destination to awe, admire, and visit the area’s historic mid-century homes. Atomic Ranch hosted a sold-out talk and tour at the Shag House during Modernism Week. So Saturday’s reprise of the same event is back by popular demand and features a tour of the home plus a live interview with Jickie Torres, the editor of Atomic Ranch and the artist Shag followed by a Q&A which allows guests an opportunity to ask their own burning questions about the project.
“I’ve heard from so many people who didn’t get a chance to tour the Shag House during Modernism Week, so I’m really pleased that Atomic Ranch is partnering with us to open the house for tours again.,” Shag says. “My hope is that guests will see the house and be inspired to take chances in their own homes and come away from the tour with a head brimming full of fun design ideas.”
Design Dreams Unleashed
Each space in The Shag House was designed and envisioned by Shag, from the wallpaper to the flooring, the lighting furniture accessories and of course art. A team of industry masters from interior design to surfaces, landscaping and general contracting sourced, recreated and customized each design to bring them into the real world. “It’s really a wonderful opportunity to help inspire your imagination for what possible in your own home,” says Torres.
“Come to the Shag House to see Shag’s incredible creative and joyous universe come to life which is incredibly fun. And come to help stir your imagination for what’s possible in your own homes.” Atomic Ranch, is a multi-platform media company that publishes 6 times a year.
