The Meyer Photo + Video Group Donates Chromebooks to NJ Classroom

Lanoka Harbor, NJ ( PR Submission Site ) 3 November 2018 – The Meyer Photo + Video Group has funded a donation of Chromebooks to Gantner Avenue Elementary School in Elmwood Park, New Jersey. Teacher Ms. Stubaus requested the Chromebooks in a Donorchoose.org funding campaign for her 4th and 5th-grade students who are struggling academically and emotionally due to a variety of disabilities including Autism, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, learning disabilities, health impairments, and emotional disabilities.

She added that the school only had two Chromebooks available to the entire student body of 19 classrooms, making everyday use impossible for her students. With over ⅓ of the student body receiving free or reduced-priced lunch, many of the students do not have access to a computer or Internet at home. The Meyer Photo + Video group also funded the cost of processing, fulfillment, labor, and materials fees charged by Donorschoose.org.

Earlier this year, The Meyer Photo + Video group also donated a Bluetooth CD Player to a preschool classroom in Fairfield Township School. “We donate to various charities throughout the year, however, the special needs community holds a special place in my heart, as my own son was diagnosed with Autism two years ago,” said business owner, Ashley Meyer. “I personally know the significant changes and improvements a child with special needs can make with the help of therapies and assistive technology”

Ms. Stubaus anticipates that having daily access to technology will allow her to differentiate and individualize lessons according to the individual’s needs and provide more opportunities to use programs that promote higher level thinking skills as well as access online audiobooks and comprehension support.
