Mr. Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram & Thread uploaded a post on his thread account recently, clearing some common questions of the social media users. The intent of Adam was crystal clear, according to him follower’s engagement is more important than the follower’s number. And, we all should agree on it, as follower count can be fake or purchased but real engagement gives the real views and likes that those fake followers cannot provide.

Reevaluating Follower Metrics

Adam believes that follower counts are important and impressive, which is why it is considered a good metric. But the problem is that if you are the owner of any social media handle, then why don’t you make it so engaging that these metrics are not so crucial? This thinking of a high number of followers needs to be changed because it can drive negative experiences and behavior. And, many other social media official accounts believe in this statement. Look, as we all know engagement is the crucial parameter to achieve the highest success on any social media handle.

Brand Misconception

However, brands and sponsors do not believe in this theory. 99.9% of brands believe that the larger the number of followers, the larger their sales record will be. And this mindset of brands has infected the parameters of social media. Social media handles like Instagram and Threads need to change their policy first, 98% of the users come to earn on the social media platforms, which is not a bad thing because social media handles it-self are here to earn….but still, these parameters are un-breakable after knowing this thing also.

And this is the biggest reason for users running behind the followers and fake followers and purchased followers took place over here. At last, I would like to say that it is a game plan totally. In my opinion, social media handles like Instagram and Threads themselves don’t believe in their own thoughts, and it’s been proven as we can see small creators with low numbers of follower counts and good engagement don’t get paid or sponsored by the brand and social media handles.

Summary

Social media handles like Instagram and Threads themselves don't believe in their own thoughts, and it's been proven as we can see small creators with low numbers of follower counts and good engagement don't get paid or sponsored by the brand and social media handles.
