Freedom Recovery Centre – Transforming Lives with Compassion and Evidence-Based Treatment
Gauteng, South Africa – Freedom Recovery Centre, a beacon of hope and transformation, proudly announces its continued commitment to providing exceptional rehabilitation services for individuals battling substance use disorders.
Established in December 2008 with just R128 in the bank, Freedom Recovery Centre has grown into a thriving organization that serves 142 clients across three centers, supported by a dedicated team of 70 full-time staff and volunteers.
A Journey of Growth and Excellence
From its humble beginnings, Freedom Recovery Centre has expanded its reach and impact. The organization operates three distinct centers: a subsidized center serving 40 males and 12 female service users, a private center catering to medical aid and cash-paying clients (30 males), and a subsidized halfway house accommodating 42 male residents. This growth reflects the unwavering passion and enthusiasm that has driven Freedom Recovery Centre since its inception.
Commitment to Quality and Compliance
Freedom Recovery Centre is in good standing with the Department of Social Development and received its registration as a rehabilitation facility in 2013, by the determinations of Act 70 of 2008 (The Prevention of and Treatment for Substance Abuse Act). This registration underscores the center’s adherence to the highest standards of care and its dedication to providing effective and ethical treatment.
Award-Winning Care
In 2018, Freedom Recovery Centre received the “Best Practices” treatment center award in Gauteng, showcasing its innovative and effective approach to rehabilitation. In 2022, MEA Market Magazine UK named the center the Best Drug Rehab Centre in Gauteng, further recognizing its commitment to excellence.
Comprehensive and Compassionate Treatment
At the heart of Freedom Recovery Centre’s success is its ethos of “loving people back to life.” This philosophy is embodied in the center’s use of evidence-based treatment models, including pharmacotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, psychotherapy (individual and group sessions), and the 12 steps of a recovery program.
A multidisciplinary team of professionals delivers these services, including registered social workers, registered counselors, addiction counselors, social auxiliary workers, registered nurses, enrolled nurses, a clinical psychologist, an occupational therapist, and a psychiatrist.
Supporting Emerging Organisations
Freedom Recovery Centre is also dedicated to supporting the broader community of rehabilitation services. The center has assisted emerging organizations, such as Barberton Recovery Centre and Polokwane Recovery Centre, with their registration processes.
Additionally, the Freedom Recovery Centre trains emerging support groups to work effectively with individuals living with substance use disorders, further extending its impact and expertise.
Expanding Services
In addition to its comprehensive in-patient treatment facilities, Freedom Recovery Centre has successfully registered its first outpatient center in Nigel. This center offers a range of services, including aftercare programs and support groups, ensuring that clients receive ongoing support as they transition back into their communities.
A Bright Future
As Freedom Recovery Centre looks to the future, it remains steadfast in its mission to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to those in need. The center’s comprehensive services, included in the monthly program fees, ensure that clients receive the highest quality of support throughout their recovery journey.
