Oil Lifting And Draining

Begin by lifting your car up so that it is easier to move under it. Don’t forget to put on the jack stand after you lift your car, this is very important for your safety.

Remember that the oil should not be too hot or too cold, it should only be warm. If you just got in from driving, let the car rest for a while. Likewise, if the car has not been running for a long time, just start the engine for a few minutes to warm up the oil.

In the front of the car, you will find the oil stud under the car engine. Place the drain tray under the latch. Unscrew the screw with the right socket, and the oil will begin to flow into the pan. • Buy the right oil and oil filter

If the engine is cold, start it and let it run for five minutes to warm up the oil. If it’s hot, wait at least 30 minutes to avoid burning yourself.

Never use an adjustable wrench or socket in a drain plug. Use a box wrench of the appropriate size, usually metric, for the socket. Always use sling holders. Never operate under a vehicle that is supported by a jack only. it may seem like a money saver, an inexpensive oil filter is usually only good for about 3,000 miles. To extend the life of your oil, use better quality filters if you travel more than 3,000 miles between oil changes.

• Pull the Oil Plug

Then drive your car over it. This will take the work out of cleaning up oil spills, as you can throw the entire sheet away when you’re done, or save it for the next change if you’re lucky enough not to spill. Lift the car, put the jack stands in place and lower the car. Unscrew and quickly remove the plug from the oil stream. Clean the drain plug and install a new gasket (if necessary).
